The Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS), is the vision of the local governments (municipalities) of Western Macedonia region regarding the fulfillment of its responsibilities, on waste management and the protection of the environment.

A common effort which began in 1998 with the establishment of DIADYMA S.A. and is being continued steadily until today.

Having as priority the moto “The citizen to his environment” available financial resources as well as the advantages of the area were utilized, a central base system was designed, capable to adapt to the increasing requirements of environmental legislation and has been in continuous and uninterrupted operation since 2005.

The correctness of the design has been proven and is being proven daily and in practice. The achievement of the objectives and the obligations follow each other and rank our region among the "Good Practices" in the management of solid waste, at a European Union level.
